We are Kim and Chris. We operate Sticks & Stones Farm, located in the Lanark Highlands. We are 1st generation farmers, working a farm we started from scratch in late 2016.
We use sheep and cows in a rotational grazing system to help us build soil and improve our ecosystem without pesticides, herbicides or artificial fertilizers. Our small flock is primarily grass fed and is raised with love.
While raising sheep is one of our passions, so is maple syrup. We LOVE maple syrup! Using more traditional methods of buckets and a small wood fired evaporator, we started with just 25 buckets in 2017 and have expanded to 240 in 2023. While the collection method has involved the use of an ATV, two Haflinger horses have joined our farm and will be the primary use of ‘power’ to get the sap out of the sugarbush going forward.
Our lamb and maple syrup are available at the market. You can follow us on Facebook (though we’re not very good at updating it), or you can email us at sticksandstonesfarm@icloud.com
